An idle vehicle is a cost. Every hour a driver spends cruising for a fare is an hour without revenue for them or the fleet. The answer isn't more cars on the road. It's more trips for the cars already there.
Curb Flow is Curb's ride-hailing marketplace. It brings street hails, fleet dispatches, app bookings and third-party trip requests into one network and sends that work straight to licensed taxi and for-hire drivers.
One network, many sources of demand
Curb Flow connects demand from Curb's own apps and dispatch with partners including Uber, Lyft, Ride Health, Transit, GETT, the National PACE Association, Modivcare, Sentry and Trapeze. It covers consumer, business and government trips across taxi, rideshare, NEMT, paratransit and wheelchair-accessible service. It now operates in more than 100 cities, with a network that has grown 4x since launching in 2023.
More hired time for drivers
Drivers on Curb Flow spend 26% more time on hired trips and drive 16% more hired miles, according to Curb. In New York City, Curb Flow trips make up 30% of yellow taxi trips, and total trips are up 22% year over year. In Los Angeles, Curb Flow accounts for 60% of completed taxi trips, and driver earnings are up more than 20% year over year.
Steady work from city programs
Cities count on Curb to run critical transportation programs, which means steady work for the fleets and drivers behind them. Chicago runs its wheelchair-accessible vehicle dispatch entirely through Curb. In New York City, which became the first place taxis served as paratransit, taxis now complete those rides at a 99%+ rate.
What it means for fleets and drivers
- More paid trips: demand from many sources in one feed
- Less idle time: trip offers between street hails
- Easier recruiting: operators are adding vehicles and filling shifts more easily
- New revenue streams: access to NEMT, paratransit and WAV programs
