Dear TLC Licensee:

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones well and safe during this holiday season.

We are writing to bring your attention to the Health Order announced by the Mayor Bill de Blasio and issued on December 13, 2021 by Health Commissioner David Chokshi. The Order requires that private sector workers, including TLC-Licensed Drivers and Operators, be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Beginning December 27, 2021, workers who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business must have proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Workers will then have 45 days to get their second dose. To schedule a vaccine appointment, you can go to vaccinefinder.nyc.gov .

Businesses must verify and keep a record of employee’s proof of vaccination. Businesses, including garages and bases, can comply with this mandate by following the steps set out by DOHMH at nyc.gov/vaxtowork.

Please note that reasonable accommodations may be issued for medical or religious reasons. Detailed information on reasonable accommodations is also available at nyc.gov/vaxtowork.

TLC-Licensed Drivers can comply with the Order by keeping their proof of vaccination with them while driving.

Neither TLC-Licensed Drivers nor Passengers are required to provide the other with proof of vaccination. Should either Passengers or Drivers have concerns about the vaccination compliance, those concerns can be made to 311 by phone or online at  https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-03446.

Masks continue to be required by both TLC-Licensed Drivers and Passengers during transport. If a Passenger refuses to wear a mask, the TLC-Licensed Driver can refuse service without fear of a penalty.

Thank you for your dedication to serving New Yorkers and keeping New York City healthy and safe!

Sincerely,

NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission
